Salam and Dell Technologies have announced a memorandum of understanding to expand cloud infrastructure and edge AI services in Saudi Arabia. Edge computing processes data closer to the place it is produced, which can reduce latency and keep some workloads operating when connectivity to a central cloud is constrained.

Where the value can appear

Saudi businesses can use the model in manufacturing inspection, retail analytics, logistics, facilities and field operations. The business case should begin with a decision that needs to happen faster—not with a target number of AI devices.

Teams should measure avoided downtime, response time, accuracy and operating cost. They also need clear rules for which data remains locally processed, which moves to the cloud and who can update models deployed across distributed sites.
