Reddit has made Max campaigns available to all advertisers. The product automates targeting, creative selection and rotation, placements and budget allocation while retaining controls that let marketers define the offer, assets and commercial objective.

The launch adds Advertising API support, an integration with Smartly and asset groups. Each asset group can represent a different product line or use case with its own media, headlines, destination and reporting. That structure is important because it allows automation to learn across multiple creative combinations without merging every product into one undifferentiated campaign.

In Reddit's announcement dated 3 September 2026, the company says 17 split tests showed 17% lower cost per acquisition and more than 27% additional conversions versus standard campaigns. Those are platform-reported results from a limited test set and should not be treated as a universal benchmark.

Why this matters for performance teams

Campaign automation makes input quality more important. The system still needs distinct messages, accurate conversion signals, credible landing pages and enough variation to discover which audience-message combination produces value. Automation cannot repair a weak offer or an event that counts an unqualified action as a sale.

Reddit's advantage is the context created by specialist communities and detailed conversations. Its risk is treating community interest as purchase intent without testing the difference.

Karim strategic takeaway

For technology, healthcare education or professional services, start with one narrow problem and three clearly different creative angles. Separate services into asset groups, exclude sensitive medical targeting, and compare Reddit Max against a standard campaign using qualified leads and revenue. Keep a controlled budget until the platform proves that its additional conversions also become valuable customers.
