Pinterest is introducing Visual Search Ads that place paid products inside visual-search results and Pin closeups. Instead of depending on a typed keyword alone, the format uses image context and Pinterest's understanding of products, taste and intent to reach users while they are comparing possibilities.

The company says its users conduct more than 80 billion searches each month, most of them visual and more than half commercial. The format will enter beta for eligible advertisers across Pinterest ad markets in the coming weeks.

A broader performance advertising update

Pinterest is also adding Priority Products to Performance+, allowing brands to emphasize selected products during launches or promotions while retaining automated delivery. Self-serve A/B testing will compare creative and targeting strategies, while App Promotion introduces a dedicated objective for installs.

On the consumer side, Restyle will let users photograph a room and generate alternative design directions and products. It begins in beta in the United States and Canada, but the underlying idea is strategically broader: visual AI can reduce the gap between inspiration, product comparison and purchase.

The opportunity for GCC brands

Beauty, furniture, fashion, travel, real estate and automotive brands can benefit when customers make decisions visually. The preparation starts with product feeds, high-quality imagery, accurate availability and landing pages that preserve the context of the Pin.

Pinterest's global search figure does not prove Saudi or GCC scale. Brands should run controlled market tests and measure qualified site visits, assisted conversions, product saves and completed sales rather than assuming that visual engagement equals demand.

Karim's strategic takeaway

Visual search turns the creative asset into part of the targeting system. The best response is not simply producing more beautiful images; it is building a measurable visual-commerce journey where the product, feed, landing page and conversion data agree with one another.
