Pinterest introduced a campaign optimization score in Ads Manager on 21 September 2026. It gives advertisers a quick assessment of how their setup aligns with the platform's performance recommendations, with suggestions spanning campaign configuration, creative mix and signal quality.

Pinterest encourages broad targeting or Performance+ targeting, sufficient and stable budgets, several creative formats and fresh conversion and product-feed data. It suggests at least three ad formats within an ad group, then five or more distinct ads as a richer input for its system. These are platform recommendations; correlation between a high score and better performance is not proof that raising a score causes higher sales.

Karim's strategic takeaway

For beauty, retail, furniture or travel accounts with eligible inventory, use the score as a preflight checklist. Change one controllable element at a time, keep the product feed accurate, and track bookings or purchases against a holdout or comparable campaign. Do not increase budget simply because a platform-generated score rose; the conversion event must still reflect the business outcome.
