Instagram has begun allowing people to add posts in which they are tagged directly to the main profile grid while keeping the post connected to its original creator. The item can be added from a notification, the post or the tags tab, and later removed from the grid without deleting the original.

The change makes tagged content more durable. A brand can turn approved customer or creator work into visible social proof without downloading, reposting and obscuring ownership. For creator partnerships, the profile grid can become a curated evidence layer rather than a feed made only by the brand.

A stronger operating model for collaboration

Brands should define which tagged posts qualify, who confirms usage rights, how creators are credited and how quickly outdated or sensitive content is removed. Healthcare and beauty teams need explicit consent and careful review of treatment claims, patient identity and before-and-after imagery.

Performance should not be judged by tag volume. Better measures include profile visits, product-page sessions, qualified enquiries, bookings and revenue influenced by the featured content. A small set of credible posts may outperform a crowded grid.

Karim's strategic takeaway

Creator content becomes more valuable when it remains attributable, permissioned and measurable. The opportunity is not filling the grid; it is turning authentic proof into a managed conversion asset.
